Checking again to see if there are researchers on site of the Peny. or Penny. Hurst line of Brunswick Co. VA.He was a prominent person and a well known schoolteacher in the Brunswick and Sussex areas of Virginia.
Peny. Hurst married Elizabeth the widow of Ingram Blanks who died 1762 in Brunswick Co. Peny. and Elizabeth were the parents of Sally Hurst.Peny. Hurst died in 1776 and thenElizabeth Hurst's will dated August 31, 1777 left the following to her daughter Sally Hurst:
"I Give & bequeath unto my Daughter Sally Hurst Two feather Beds & furniture one suit of Curtains half a Dozen pewter plates, eleven stone Ditto, four pewter Basons, old pewter to make a Dish, one dozen of Table Spoons, one dozen of Tea spoons, one Tea kettle, two Iron pots, one pan, one pair of pot hooks, two iron pot racks, one Trivet, one gridiron, one Candle mould, two candle Sticks, three washing Tubs, four pails, two powdering tubs, three trays, one Loom, three Stays, and two harness, two spinning Wheels, one flax Wheel, all the Cotton and Wool cards, one warping bar & Coxs, two butter pots, three pad locks and one Chest of drawers, two bottles, one Jug, two meal sifters, one ???, two Table Cloths, and all my Books, all my clouths excepting one gound, one quilt, one Riding Coat, and all the Remainder part of my Estate whatsoever to her & her heirs and assigns forever, but if she dies before she marries or under age, then the above said Estate I Give to my son William Blanks and his heirs.""
Does anyone have further information for Sally Hurst? Your help would really be appreciated. Elizabeth "Eliza" Hurst was my ancestor through her first marriage to Ingram Blanks Sr.
