Mirya, in an earlier posting you gave the names of William/ Lucy Towel Hurt's children. You didn't mention Martha (b 1820, census figure). Her name would not have appeared in a census as she married David K Butler in Perry Co 4/23/1843. My source is the book "Behold He Cometh In A Cloud" by G.W.Noble.On page 94 he states "Judge Butler's wife Martha was a sister to William Hurt who was killed at Point Lookout, Md. and to Wash and Jack Hurt who served with me in the Confederacy. David Butler is buried in the Snowden Cemetery, Breathitt Co. I haven't located Martha's grave as of yet. William, as you probably know, married Mary Jane Mullins. Their only child known to me is Lucinda A. born 1853. As I stated earlier, Joseph Hurt, s/o Andrew Jackson/Eliza Combs, could not have been killed by Bad Tom Smith in the 1880s as he appears in Perry censuses of 1900, 1910, 1920, and per his DC died Dec 25, 1945.
