Re: Jane Hutchinson Belfast County Ireland
The data you posted for John b. 1840 doesn't match my John, however, there are so many similarities between your data and mine that there must be a match in there somewhere.
It is possible that our John's father was not Allen, but another sibling. Our John gave his first daugher the name Sarah (which appears to be common in those days) but the son's names don't appear to have anything in common.
Other interesting notes:
Our John had two marriages.Children from the first marriage seemed to have ended up in Texas (from Arkansas) yet children from 2nd message stayed in AR/OK to live on land owned by John.John spent the last 20 years of his life in or near Hot Springs, AR.Was living in Bauxite when he wrote his will. He had some kind of condition that was helped by the springs, and it was also thought he had some financial interest in them (or the mining/minerals).
John had a daughter, Sarah, who married a man named Wm. Ray.One of their daughters, Lucile married Harry Boyd Ramage, son of Fannie Boyd and John Rowland Ramage.John Rowland Ramage was the son Margaret Isabella (Rowland) Ramage, who was the daughter of Christopher Roberson Rowland.Do we have this lineage in common here, too?
I came across another John Martin who had a sister Annie E. on another Martin website. They didn't know much about these two, but their John evidently robbed a train in Ohio, was sent to prison and died there. Does this sound like yours?Your mention of "prison hospital" seems to match.
Would love to talk more about this.In the meantime, I'll talk more to some of our elder Martin relatives.Maybe I've got the Allen part wrong.
Please feel free to email me directly if you'd like.I'd love to dig deeper into this one.
