Hyndmans from N. Ire to Australia & Lesley Alexander Moody
I am afraid that the following will be very disjointed; however, I would like to get it on line to get rid of the papers that hold my scribbles.
1.1926--death of William Moody Hyndman of "Dalbeth", Anderson St., South Yarra, aged 91; b. Roe House, Newtown, Limavady, Ire.; 2nd son of Robert Hyndman, West Indian planter; went to Aust in 1852; nephew of Lesley A. Moody, Civil Commisary-General (Lesley held a variety of government posts); William served as Manager of Oriental Banking Corp. and was a Director of numerous companies; one of his daus married A. Seymour Dennis;Mrs Hyndman died1923, married for 60 yrs. Before marriage she was Miss Matilda Johnstone, eldest dau of A. J. Johnstone of Launceston;William was buried Brighton Cemetery.[20 Dec. 1923 at Dalbeth, South Yarra-death of Matilda, wife of W. M. Hyndman]
2.7 May 1863--St. John's Church, Launceston-William Moody Hyndman, Esq., Oriental Bank, Beechworth; 2nd son of Robert Augustus Hyndman, Esq., solicitor, Dublin, married Matilda, the eldest dau of William Johnstone, Esq. (notice the name change) of Launceston.Dau b. 1864;
3.10th June 1862--St. Stephen's Church, Richmond-
Robert Hyndman, eldest son of Robert Augustus Hyndman, Esq. of Dublin, married Georgiana Lucia Gordon McCrae, eldest dau of Andrew M'Crae, Esq, police magistrate, Kilmore.
4.1903 20 June-St. Paul's, Kyneton-The Rev. Nigel Denzil Herring, Vicar of St. Peter's Church, Broken Hill, eldest son of the late Nigel Herring of Adelaide; married Edith Mary Hyndman, 3rd dau of Robert Hyndman of Kyneton.
5.21 Feb 1911-St. John's Church, Malmsbury-ceremony conducted by the Rev. J. C. Herring--Nigel Denzil Herring, eldest son of the late Nigel Charles Herring, married Agnes Murison McCrae, youngest dau of Robert Hyndman of Kyneton.
6.21 Jan 1943-At Bendigo--death of Agnes Murison McCrae, wife of Nigel Herring and yngst dau of Robert and Georgiana Lucia Gordon Hyndman of Kyneton.
7.1943--St. John's Church, Toorak-Estelle Hyndman Mackey Dennis, only dau of Seymour Dennis of Caroline St., South Yarra; married Lt. Col. William Wettenhall Lempriere, son of James Lempriere of Wadenhoe, Young, N S W.
8.5 Sept. 1901-death of Robert Gordon Hyndman, aged 37, architect.
9.1915-Mr R. A. Hyndman appointed Asst. Colonial Architect.
10. 28 Oct. 1943, Avilion, 1 William St., South Yarra--death of Emily Anne, the last surviving member of the late Lesley Alexander Moody and cousin of William M. Hyndman, aged 91.
11. 1867--William St., South Yarra-Frances Agnes Moody, wife of Lesley Moody, dies, aged 41.Children:
dau b. 1853; dau b. 1855; son b. 1857; son b. 1859; d. born 1860, Margaret Emily, dies 1868; Agnes Emily dies 1853.
12. 22 Oct. 1873-All Saints7 Church, St. Kilda-Jane Fanny Moody, eldest dau of Lesley Alexander Moody, Esq., married Daniel Wilkie, eldest son of the Hon. D. E. Wilkie, M.D.
13. 12 Dec. 1877-death of Godfrey Waller Moody, 3rd son of Lesley A. Moody, Esq., aged 18.
14. 7 July 1903 at Figtree House, Hunter's Hill, Sydney-death of Ruth, 3rd dau of late Lesley A. Moody.
15. 17 Jan 1878-Lesley Stephen Moody (son of Lesley?), Mgr. of Bank of Australasia, Bairnsdale; married Eliza, eldest dau of Alexander Guild of Seymour.
