George W. Ice was in Texas by 1854.He was in Collin County Texas in 1860. He enlisted in 22nd Texas Cavalry Regiment 1861, CSA,and died in April 1863 of disease contracted in the army. This information came from the affidavit that Louisa Ice, his widow, provided to claim a Confederate land grant in 1882.
Also located in Collin County Texas (between 1860-1870) were:
•Sarah P. Ice Lockridge (Lochridge) (1831-1912) who married John Lockridge (1820-1879) by 1852.
•Martha C. Ice Simpson who married Enoch Simpson on 18 Feb 1858 in Rusk County Texas and who was a widow by 1870.
•Josanna C. Ice Gammon Forder who married 23 Nov 1865 Smith County Texas to John G. Gammon and on 5 July 1885 in Collin county Texas to William Forder.
•Isabelle "Belle" Ice Flannery who married 1 Jan 1871 to Thomas Flannery.
•Elizabeth Ann "Betsey" Ice who married 24 Mar 1870 in Hunt county Texas to William Pitt Waggoner.
These women are all daughters of Andrew A. Ice and are found with him on the 1850 Rusk County Texas census.
Although George W. Ice does not appear on the 1850 Rusk County Texas census with proposed his father, Andrew, he is found listed under Andrew on the Rusk county tax rolls in 1852, 1853, 1854.He married A. L. Camper 27 Jun 1855.
