Re: What's the Evidence That the Two Marthas Were One?
Gene and Thomas Bliss,
I have followed this thread very closely because I am researching and writing a biography of William B. Ide, the great-grandson of Nicholas Ide.Naturally, the Bliss connection is of importance to me.There is one item that I feel may have been overlooked by both of you.Thomas Bliss' will was written October 7, 1647 and an estate inventory taken on October 21, 1647.Assumably, Thomas died between the 7th and 21th.
Nathaniel Ide, son of "son-in-law" Nicholas Ide was born on November 11, 1647!There is no way Thomas could have known about this Nathaniel Ide.So who was Thomas referring to in his will?
I currently have no answer but wanted to put my two cents worth into the thread.
