Re: The Travelling Ireland Family .
I'm just getting back into researching my maternal grandmother's family, and may have a link ... logically, if nothing else. Since my great great grandfather was a sea captain, it's possible yours and mine are related, if not brothers, perhaps father-son, or ??? Here's what I do know:
My great-great-grandfather was Captain Edward Ireland, born July 4, 1842, in or near Bath, England. He married Sarah Weedall Ireland.
I know my grandmother visited him when she was young, but by then he was living in Runcorn (I'm not sure if this was England or Ireland).
Additionally, I know that my great grandmother, daughter of Captain Edward Ireland, was married at Church Of St. Mary, Parish Of Widnes, County Of Lancaster, 13 Sep 1886. Her name was Elizabeth Ireland, and she married Joseph Bates. They eventually settled in Seattle, WA, and both died there (1919/Joseph, & unknown date/Elizabeth).
