Jonah Irey Jr. place of birth

Jonah, first son of Phineas and Martha (Brown) was born in Columbiana Co. Ohio in 1817.Repeated censuses also list his birthplace as Ohio.
Yet, according to his obit. he was born in Ireland, West Va.
So, if his parents are married in Col. Co. why would they return to WV?
Recently some new Quaker records have been posted on Ancestry.It listed Jonah as being born in Ohio, then crossed out and Ireland WV written in.But, this is a transcribed copy, so, it was easy to change.
I have been to Ireland (Lewis Co.) and it is a small village and I doubt that anyone would make that difficult trip throgh mountains, forests, and rivers while pregnant.
There was no reason for them to go there.Besides, their parents (Sam and Mary Irey) (Edward Whitacre andMartha)
were in Ohio as well.
Phineas also owned land in Col. Co. so there was no reason to go there.
