William Isham and Rebecca (Weaver) Isham may have had a daughter named Sarah, but anyone researching the Ellis family would probably do better to forget the whole idea of an Isham/Isom connection, based on my experience.

The Sarah Isham I see married to an Ellis evidently lived to be 113 years old, and had not one, but (at least) two kids in her 50s. And her birth year completely defied all reconciliation with the extant census records.

No thanks...I think I'll keep looking for someone whose synopsis doesn't read like the dust jacket of a sci-fi novel.

I am pretty sure that the connection from Isham to Ellis is made to try to connect to William and Rebecca. I understand that the record is "proved" in the War of 1812 Widow's Pension records. But I've looked, and I don't see anything that fits. So, at this point, I am pretty much DARING people to produce anything that can salvage these connections that is plausible. Meanwhile, I will try to find the real maiden name of Sarah.
