Re: Jesse JADWIN - Rebecca Anderson- Rensselaer Co. NY
You're welcome.I tried to investigate the Jesse Jadwin family because I thought one of their daughters might have married James Daly, as his wife was born in 1815, in NY or MA, and as I explained, Jesse's son Renselaer was so intimately involved with my Dalys.I thought that perhaps Renselaer and Lydia's daughter being named Phoebe indicated an aunt-neice relationship. But knowing that Renselear was born in 1796 does make it seem that 1815 is a little late for Renselaer and Phoebe to be brother and sister. Although, Phoebe could have been the last born child. If Rebekah was 16-18 when she married in 1788, by 1815, she'd be only 43 and probably still be able to bear a child.Phoebe may have also been a foster child in the Jadwin household.
In my family, between my great-gf's two wives, he had 31 years of childbearing, and lived to be 95!His first son was born in 1847, and my grandfather, the last-born child was born in 1878.When I was researching the Jadwin family, I seemed to think that Phoebe (b.1815) was Jesse's daughter, but I could be wrong.I went back on the 1820 Census, and I believe that she appeared there in the appropriate age group. (Don't have my Ancestry.com subscription anymore, so I can't see the 1820 Census, but I seem to remember following her through the 1820 and 1830 Censuses.)I know that Rensealaer's children were born in MA, then he moved to OH.
I don't believe that Jesse Jadwin ever left NY, so Phoebe may have been the daughter who stayed close to the family, but I have no proof.
