Elizabeth L--- Jameson, wife of Charles M. Jameson
Looking for help with a mystery.
In the Daniel Shugars Family Bible (1801-1912 Cumberland County, PA & Baltimore County, MD) there is a Birth Entry for "William Jameson, Jr. 15 February 1843 at 6 O'clock P.M", and an entry for Elizabeth Jameson's death on the "17th of February 1845 at 12 O'clock P.M. Aged 21 years 11 months and 12 days.Funeral preached by thy Rev. B. Samuel Cornelius Text the 23rd Psalm and the 4th verse".Additionally next to the 23rd Psalm there is a notation written in the margin the text is marked was "Elizabeth Jameson's Funeral Sermon."
My cousins and I have no idea who these Jameson's might be.Very little information is available on Ancestry other than some of them lived at a place called Sandymount or Sandy Mount in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, MD.
Elizabeth married Charles M. Jameson about 1840, presumably in Reisterstown, MD.
In 1870, Charles resided in District 2, Charles, MD.
Son William Jameson, Jr. (his grandfather is William Jameson, Sr.) married Albertine Everett CUMMINGS in West Newton, MA in 1865.Died in 1889 at St. Mary's Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. They had a daughter named Mary Elizabeth JAMESON born in 1868.
This amount of recognition in the Shugars Family bible suggests Elizabeth Jameson was definitely important in the life of one of my ancestors; we just don't know how.Any information about this family is greatly appreciated.
