Do you know who Anneke JANS siblings were?Could it have been my paternal ancestor Geesje JANS who immigrated from probably Holland, The Netherlands to New York?
You mentioned a spice chest and Geesje JANS CARPSTENSEN [later OSTRANDER] PIER's husband may have worked for the East Indian Company.
Sorry, I don't know about the items you list.
Hope we are newly found cousins,
Jan in VT
Thanks :) to Terence for this data:
Pieter Carstensen died at sea. Between 1650 & 1659. He may have been employed by East Indian Company. His widow was Geesje Jans. Geesje remarried in 1660 to Arent Teunissin Pier. They sailed to New Amsterdam, NY, with Geesje's children by her first marriage. One of these children was the groom. He grew up and married Rebecca Traphagen in 1679.
Geesje had children with Arent who later used surname PIER. Geesje's children with first husband used surname OSTRANDER.
