My great-grandfather Heicko (Heico) Janssen was son of Weert and Wubka Schmidt Janssen.Weert was born 3-22-1820 in Filsum Ostfriesland Germany and came to American in 1868 with children Heicko, Taulka, Johann and Bernand.Wilhemnena was born to 2nd wife.Taulka married Harm Behrens, dd 2-18-19l7.Heico married Antje Gerbers.There are several Flesners in the Gerber family.So we may have various connections.Weert Janssen settled in Golden IL (close to Peoria) and then family members traveled to Flatville IL.Heico went from Golden to Flatville to Buckley IL where most of his children lived.
The Buckley Lutheran Church has various Garrelts (Scott Garrelts, the baseball player is a cousin), Flessners and Poppes.Anything match?
