Re: JARRETT/GRIFFITH lines thru David Jacob
Well that def. makes us kin way on back.
I know a lot of stuff. I still need to do a lot more work on my website.
I guess you probably have all the Fayette County records for the Lykins/Likens family.
William & Hannah Hicks's son Archellis is in Fayette Co. in the early 1830's.
I know that Peter Likens & Mary Jarrett were married July 17, 1788 in Greenbrier Co.
Their daughter Margaret (Peggy) Lykins Married William Curry Nov. 28, 1824 in Kanawha Co. By Edward R. Hughes
Herod Lykins Married Polly Likens March 9, 1829 in Kanawha co. By Edward R. Hughes
John Lykins Married Rebecca Tucker March 3, 1825 in Kanawha co. By William A. Wood.
Most of them are on the 1850 census of Fayette County,
Edward Richard Hughes who married several of the Lykins family is a pioneer settler of Nicholas County. He founded Zoar Baptist Church. Zoar Church & cemetery are on the op. side of the road from Dotson Simpson Memorial Cemetery where my dad, grandparents and great grandparetns are all buried. Both are located at Keslers Cross Lanes in Nicholas County. Roughly 2 miles from both cemeteries on the Old Gad Road is the Miller Cemetery were Mary (Craig) Groves Miller Martin is buried, mother inlaw of Squire Jarrett.
It's a small world after all.
