Re: William Jerram Isle of Wight England
My mother's maiden name is Jerram; her great grandfather got married in Hampshire, around 1837, on his way to London, where he came to lead a wide family. I think he started out in or around Portsmouth or the Isle of Wight. His name was John Robert Jerram and, by all accounts, he had many children: maybe up to 20. My grandfather, William John Robert Jerram (1911-1986) recalled this in his final years. His father, Frederick Jerram, was one of these many children, was in the Royal Artillery at Woolwich, fought at Ypres and died around 1961.
