Let me see, what have I done lately for Jett family research:
I have posted 61 messages to this surname board alone during the last 2 1/2 years. Many of these messages provided anwers to questions posted by Jett family descendants or corrections to erroneous material posted by other researchers, including you Mr. Kamman.
Your post #1791 (January 2004)
"It's possible, although unlikely, that Peter Jett was born in 1643. He might have come to Virginia after marrying the widow of his older brother, who was the father of the children."
My post #1794
"The property trail in Old Rappahannock Co., VA establishes that William Jett inherited Peter Jett's property via primogeniture. If William Jett, had been merely a "step-son," he would not have been entitled to this property. Therefore, I believe that the reasonable conclusion is that all four of the children named on the 1666/7 patent to Francis Triplett were Peter Jett's biological children."
Jeter Jett was clearly aware that William Jett was the son and heir of Peter Jett when he published his book in 1977 (p. 22), yet your comment in post #1791 indicated that you had either forgotten this information or that you had not done even the most rudimentary research of William Jett. I find it interesting that you question the depth of my research in post #2078
Message 2021: "I have not researched the recent portion (post 1750) of this Jett line..."
even though the clear implication of my post was that I had researched this line pre-1750, even though I am only distantly related to this branch of the family. Your own comments indicate that you hadn't even bothered to trace the property trail of Peter Jett.
In addition to my online posts to this forum, I have published corrections to some of the erroneous material on some of the early collateral families listed in the books by Jeter Jett and Lois & Ernest Jett.
However, despite numerous posts on the 17th century Jett family by myself and others on this forum, when I made a quick check of the RootsWeb databases this morning, I found 71 databases that contained Peter Jett and every one of them included one or more errors. Some of the authors of these databases listed Jeter Jett as a source, some listed other GEDCOMS found on the internet, some listed posts on this forum, and some didn't list any sources. So, I can only conclude from this that posts to this forum are not read by people who proliferate Jett databases on the internet.
