David Johnson, Vermont Civil War Soldier
I have been putting our family Bible records and family photos in Ancestry.com as a safe guard. First, let me say I do not jump to conclusions and try to make pieces fit. These are the facts I have. Sarah Johnson (b. 1830 Vt) married Benjamin Furber(b.1822 NH). They had a son, James Furber, from Stockbridge, Vt that served with the 16th Vt.Included in James Furber's pictures is a soldier that appears to be 28-35. On the back of the picture is written "David Johnson". I think he could possibly be a relation of Sarah, maybe a brother. There are 3 listings for David Johnson as having served in the Civil War. One is 35 at enlistment. He is from Stockbridge. He died at Andersonville. No one should be forgotten that lost their life at that horrible prison. Does anyone have a lead on David and if he might be Sarah's brother?
