Albert Johnson family

By Tiffany Allen August 14, 2013 at 06:09:13

Hello,

I am looking for information on an Albert Johnson and his family. I am not related to this line, but they were aboard the S.S. Lady Hawkins when it was sunk on January 19, 1942 by U-66. My great-grandfather was also on the vessel and perished in the attack.

According to the crew and passenger list that I have, the Johnsons were passengers from the UK. Albert did not survive the sinking, but his wife, and their daughter Janet, did survive and were in a lifeboat with the other survivors. I'm afraid that I don't know the first name of Mrs. Johnson, but their daughter Janet, was only two years old at the time, and may still be living.

I am writing a book about the Lady Hawkins, and I would like to learn what I could about the crew and passengers who were onboard; both those that were lost, and the survivors.

I am having a difficult time locating any info about those who were aboard, so if anyone out there has any information about this person, any other passengers or crew members, or the ship itself that they would be willing to share with me for the purpose of my book, I would greatly appreciate it. In the book, I will of course, credit the people who submit any of their info to me.

Thank you.
