Re: Jordans of Elbert & Hart Counties
The info on ancestry is incorrect.I have tried multiple times to have them correct it.
James G. Jordan married Rebecca Manley 1862 Franklin Co., GA
A different James Jordan married Mary Vickery in 1837 Franklin Co.
This James Jordan who married Mary Vickery is from my mother's line. The Jordan family with Woodson name is from my father's line, although I do not know the Woodson name source.
I have never been able to place the James G Jordan who married Rebecca Manley - nor can I find them in 1870, 1880, etc.James G Jordan is in 1850 Franklin as I said and is in 1860 Franklin Co. (appears to be a farm hand in 1860).
Perhaps he died in Civil War.But anyway, I thought your Linda might have been his mother, based on Phillips/Cheek census listing.
I do not have any info on a Samuel B Jordan.I wonder if he is the S B Jordan living in Smith household in 1850 Franklin Co. Ga
