Fountain was from Wake Co., NC.A Nathan Jordan who married a Wallace (Wallis) and a John Chancey Jordan, believed to be brothers, lived in Wake County.Fountain lived in Orangeburg County, SC.My Nathan, not the above Nathan lived in Barnwell County, SC.His father was believed to be a James Jordan, who received a land grant in land that became Barnwell County in 1769.Nathan had the following known children:John, b. 1784, SC, Winney, b. 1788, Nathan Jr. b. 1797, SC, Samuel, b. 1798, SC and William, b. 1803, SC.All were believed to have been born in present day Barnwell County, SC.John, my ancestor, Samuel, William and Nathan Jordan, Jr. all migrated to Baker County, Georgia, taken out of Early County. My John was living in Georgia by 1816, where his second daughter, Jane, was born.We assume he lived in the Macon, Ga area, as daughter
Janes's tombstone, located in Hardin County, Texas, indicated she was born in Macon.
Like both James Jordans, my John descended from Richard Jordan and Elizabeth Reynolds Jordan of Surry County, VA.With over thirty various Jordan lines descending from Richard, I cannot tie in to any of them.
