Re: Reuben Jordan b.1756 VA d. 1816 GA
This is the scoop that I have on Charles C. Jordan. From the census of 1850 in Greene County, AL, he states that he was born in GA.
I wish that I had his father's and mother's name.He had a very real presence in Greene County, AL in the early 1830s until he moved to Mississippi right before the war.His first wife Eliza died sometime in the 1840s. Charles C. married again.Julia Melton in the late 1840s. These are the children that I have been able to find so far.John N. Butler, Elizabeth F. Butler Bennett, Virginia Ann Butler Hunter, James F.Butler,
Charles L. Butler and a daughter who died and left a boy and girl with Charles C. and Julia to bring up.The children's sir name was Mops as far as I can tell.Charles C. died in Rankin County, MS in 1868.I am related to this man through his son James F. Jordan.I have been looking in census records for AL and GA to find Charles C. by 1820.Do you have any clue as to what I could do?I have no Bible and all of these Jordans are gone.I know no one by the name of Jordan in my family.I am trying to find out where these people are buried in Rankin County MS.
