SAMUEL JORDAN, WILKES/LINCOLN, GA, 1780

By genealogy.com user September 14, 2000 at 08:28:32

Would like to contact anyone working on Samuel Jordan. As early as 1780, he was in the Wilkes-Lincoln Co., GA, area.He was fighting in the American Revolution and was killed that year.Recent recovery of estate papers in Greene Co., GA, prove he was the grandfather of my g-g-g, Jordan Stanley (b. 1782 in GA) via his daughter Perainy Jordan, who apparently married a Stanley.I THINK it is a Shadrack StanleyWe now have the LEGAL RECORD THAT BINDS OUR STANLEY TO THIS SAMUEL JORDAN.We are so close, just a few loose ends. The "Jordan" name entered our Stanley family as a Christian name in Georgia
in 1782."Jordan" name is a part of our local family heritage here in Texas from1856. I am PROVED 5th great grandson of this Samuel Jordan.I am a college U. S. history instructor, genealogy 30 years. My email is robsretreat@juno.com.Would enjoy share/compare our records with yours.

David
