Re: Jordan family
Hello Violet. I noticed your genforum message to Dorothy Irby. In it you said = Samuel H Jordan was also my grandfathers name. He was married to Martha McDonald, they had several children. I know they lived in Texas and Louisiana. My father was born in Glenmore, La in 1892. I have a copy of a deed of land they purchased in Texas in 1880. Samuel was married at least once before and had some children, one son was named Talmon Jordan. children of Sam and Martha were Marietta, Laura, Spence, Lora, Ollie and others, Does any of this sound familiar to you? Please respond. Violet email@example.com
Anyway I know Dorothy told you that she didn't know of any other wives of Samuel Jordan. But I was wondering if you two might be talking about two different Samuel Andrew Jordans. You see her Samuel Andrew Jordan had a son born in 1869. That Samuels Dad was born in 1833. So I can see it as feasable that the son could have been the father of your Granddad bn in 1892. Now then I have Samuel II as being married to a Georgia Ann Nichols. and their childrens names were "TilMan", Loyd, Clyne, & Valerie. I don't have anything on a second wife but it is possible. Plus I noticed you said one of the sons was named Talman, and here I have listed a Tilman.
Could you please tell me where in Texas your Jordans ended up. I have this Samuel and Georgia as getting marriedin camp Co. Tx. Let me know what you think.
