I am seeking information on an Isaac Jordan and noticed that an Isaac appears as one of the sons of Jacob & Mary Ann Shriver Jordan.
My Isaac Jordan, shows up in N.C. in the 1850 census for Mecklenburg County, age 59 years, with wife Phebe, age 60 years. They live next to son George, George's wife Eveline, and three childern (Mckee, Mary Ann & James). George lists his place of birth, in the 1860 census as Tennessee.
Isaac's birthdate is estimated to be between 1789 & 1791, which would fit into the scenario described in your message: 1) Jacob & Mary Ann married 1785, Isaac is the fifth child (1785+5=1790), Issac's grand daughter is named Mary Ann.
I have hit a brick wall, so I am considering the possibility that Issac may have migrated from PA to Ohio to Tenn to NC. Is there anymore information on Isaac Jordan listed in your source, which might link the two references to estabilish Isaac as the same person?
