Re: Wm. Jordan 1686 VA - Descendants
Hoping to connect with Diane or others searching for information on William JORDAN and Rac(a)el MEADOR/MEADOWS and son, Jonas JORDAN, born:1725 in Virginia, died June 29, 1785 in Amelia Co., VA, I believe.
I think that it is highly likely that these are the ancestors for my paternal 4th great grandmother, Rachel JORDAN, born:abt./aft. 1745 in Virginia, who married my paternal 4th great grandfather, John JENNINGS, Sr., (RS,) born: abt. 1745 in Richmond County, Virginia, who was the son of Sarah MOORE? and Edward Salley JENNINGS, born:1720 in Richmond Co., VA, who was the son of Ann KELLY, born: abt. 1695 in Richmond Co., VA, and Ann's husband, William JENNINGS, Jr., born: abt. 1695 in Richmond Co., VA, son of Mary WILLOUGHBY and William JENNINGS, Sr., son of John JENNINGS, Sr., Immigrant in 1630s into Old Rappahannock Co., VA and Margaret PAYNE, (later md. 2nd husb. Christopher EDRINGTON, Sr.,) daughter of Margaret ROBINSON and John PAYNE immigrant in 1600s to Old Rappahannock Co., VA and then lived in Westmoreland Co., VA previously Northumberland Co., VA in which other of my ancestors COX, LAMKIN lived along with my EARLE-SYMONS-HALE family group. My Ann KELLY was the daughter of (Capt.) John KELLY, (desc. from NORTON-WATSON,) and his wife, Amy DONIPHAN, (d/o of Amiee PARTRIDGE, (1st wife,) and (Capt.) Alexander DONIPHAN, Sr..
So far, we haven't been able to find the parents of my Rachel JORDAN but there are so many connections between her husband John JENNINGS' family group and that of the MEADOR/JORDAN family that I think this is the right group and Jonas JORDAN was born in 1725 making him the right age to be her father but I can't find any information on marriages nor children for him yet.Would love to hear from anyone who does have that or has names of his siblings, cousins, etc..
