Re: Jordans of Elbert & Hart Counties
Thank you so much - you are wonderful!Do you live in Hart/Elbert county area?I will be visiting Franklin County this weekend.
I mistyped on my father's info earlier - here is 2nd try - this is from notes out of my grandmother's personal book - I may have originally written wrong, so...
Philadephia Childs, daughter of Martha P Jordan.Martha's parents were John Woodson Jordan and Philadelphia Burden.John W's parents James Jordan Obediance White, James parents John Jordan Rachelle Terrell, John's parents River and Jane.River's father was Owen.
I have info on Philadelphia Taylor Burden, who was Hannah Goad's granddaughter.Interestingly enough, Phil. Burden's family shows up in yet another branch of my family as well.
You said you were looking for info on Hannah Goad?
I'm still going thru your notes about the my other Jordan branch. Most of my notes for this branch are from "remembrances".According to my grandmother, Harriett's husband's family was from SC, or moved from GA to SC, SC to GA a couple of times. Also, Fountain was an "old family name" leading me to think it went further back than Fountain 1824.I would not be surprised to find, however, that Harriett and John were 1st cousins - I found the exact same thing in yet another branch of my family at end of Civil War.Harriett and John married at end of Civil War as well.
Could you possibly send your email address?Mind is firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you, Gwen
