Re: Jordans of Elbert & Hart Counties
You have certainly proved that Rachel terrell was not the mother of James Jordan. Hopefully this information will eventually make itself known to descendents of John and Rachel Jordan who have mistakenly claimed that she was a Terrell. Are you familiar with the list found in a bible that contains names of the children of John and Rachel Jordan? You can locate the marriages of James andhis younger sisters who appear with him on the list, Jane Ham, Elizabeth Maxwell, Nancy Hannah, Rebecca Goolsby and Annie Britt in the records of Elbert and Madison Counties.Ann Jordan Britt is of particular interest as her parents are mentioned as being John and Rachel Jordan in a book on Gwinnett County where she moved.I have a transcribed list of theJordan children that says Nancy Jordan had a twin whose name could not be made out, but Ann Jordan Britt's birthdate as listed in the book on Gwinnett County and Nancy Jordan Hannah's on the list of Jordan children are identical.
