The Tasmanian Joscelynes are very well documented. They are an off-shoot of the family which moved from Felsted to Braintree in the early 18th century. Ben Joscelyne of Braintree has you all pretty well taped.Don comes from a branch of the same family which moved from Felsted to White Notley. His family moved to the Midlands, while mine moved from White Notley to Leigh on Sea.
One member of my branch migrated to Sydney in the late 19th century: Henry Maurice Joscelyne taught at Sydney Grammar School before moving to Perth to work as a meteorologist and then joined the Commonwealth Weather Bureau when it was set up in Melbourne. He retired in 1923, and probably died in Australia.I have the reference in Bright Sparks. Has anyone got any further information about him? He left no family in Ausralia as both his sons were killed in WW1, fighting with British Regiments. His wife died in England.
