I am of the Jose lineage. Their history goes back to the 1500s in Cornwall and is well documented. If you want more info please contact me by email and I will see what I can do for you. The Thomas Jose who owned the home for wayward sailors was a Methodist. This branch of the family were very religiously oriented and heavily involved in the church. I have copies of some of his correspondence to his brother in Quebec, City: John Jose ... who was one of my ancestors. A lot is known about this family ... they were world travelled and prolific.
