Re: Origin of Jose name and Cornwall
I was fascinated to read your message about your immediate family. I am the grandson of James Trick - Jimmy - Jose, whom you mention as being one of your grandfather's brothers and who played rugby for Cornwall and represented England at the 1908 Olympics. He had two daughters, Doreen and Edna, and a son, Francis James, my father (born 26.4.1911). I am named Christopher William (born 14.3 1939), and my father always told me that the William in my name was in honour of his favourite uncle - i.e your grandfather. I have a younger sister, Valerie (born 2.4.1942). My cousin Elizabeth (daughter of Doreen) tells me that she remembers meeting you during family holidays in Falmouth - apparently she and her family stayed with her mother's cousin William (presumably one of your uncles).
Do you have any further information about other members of the family, or any details of our great-grandfather's antecedents?
