Hello Christopher,
Wonderful to hear from you.Your grandfather, Jim Jose, and his wife used to stay with my mother and father when they visited Falmouth, and I have photographs of them with my parents. At that time we lived on Tresawna Terrace in Famouth and that is where I met your cousin Elizabeth. She came one afternoon to visit with my cousin then Beryl Jose (now Sampson).Yes she and her family stayed with my aunt and uncle, William and Florence in Swanvale, when they visted Falmouth.I believe that for many years Doreen corresponded with my cousin Christine Richardson (nee Lower) here in Canada.I had asked Christine several times if she knew where to find Elizabeth, but she had lost track after Doreen died.
Christine is still here in Canada, and lives in Hamilton, Ontario during the winter and at Sauble Beach, on Lake Huron during the summer. My wife Karen and I met her and her husband (Raymond Richardson) here in London, Ontario during the summer, when they were in the city for their granddaughters graduation from the University of Western Ontario.
Christine's brother Roy, who also lived in Canada, passed on some years ago.
Of William's children Len has passed on, his sister Maureen lives in Plymouth,
while Beryl lives in Flushing. Her twin brother Deryk died in Hamilton some years ago.Reginald's son Peter, lives in Orpington, Kent, but we see him, and his wife, about once a year when he visits his daughter Sarah, who lives on the outskirts of Hamilton.
I have lived in Canada for almost 50 years, mostly in Hamilton, but for the past two years in London. My wife was born here and we have three daughters (two adopted and living in Hamilton) and our own daughter Carla, married with one son, who lives near us in London.
I hope we can stay in touch and I will tell you much more.In the meantime you can contact me if you wish over my website at www.canadiansoccerhistory.com and then I will pass on other information.
Thanks for getting in touch.I will let Christine know.
Sincerely,
Colin Jose
