Lynne,
Hi. I notice that we have some similar names in our Flynn families. I know that my grandmother had one brother John aka Jack who remained behind in Ireland. As the only son he had inheritance rights to the family farm, none of the girls did. In fact he was amongst the last of the siblings to pass away. I believe the Flynns, in my family came from Ballinsloe, Mayo. The Joyce's are from Turloughmore in East Galway. There are very few Joyce's in that part of the county. The vast majority are from West Galway.
In physical appearance the Flynns tended to be short and stocky. Whereas the Joyces are either tall and slim or giants (well over six foot and powerfully built). There has been no in between, or in my case take after my mother's side. It was great to hear from you. Hope to hear from you again. Let's keep comparing notes. Maybe at some point we'll find a family connection. Rick
