Hi Lynn. It's Richard Joyce. Sorry it's been so long since I last spoke with you. There's been a lot of stuff going on in my personal life. But this is not the time or place to discuss that. What research I've been able to do concerns my grandmother Mary Flynn. Thanks to the good folks at the Ellis Island website I've been able to discover that she entered the country through Ellis Island. She ship she arrived on docked in New York on September 12, 1904 and that she had an aunt who lived on W 41st Street in Manhattan who sponsored her and who she lived with after clearing the Island. According to my mother, her and all her sisters were sponsored by this aunt and stayed with her until going out on her own. You will see that I have a new email address. In the old address there were three zeros after marvin. Thanks to dear old mom I am nowe in possession of my grandfather's baptismal record and a letter from his mother dated March 1915 that accompanied the record. Apparently he needed it in order to marry my grandmother (April 12, 1905). They were married in New York (Manhattan)that date. I haven't had a chance to go over to clerks office or contact them to see if I can get a copy of their marriage license, or even to see if I could track down this information through the Arch-Diocese of New York. For my grandfather I'm going to have to go through the National Archives, because he entered the country through the Port of Boston. Wish me luck. Hope to hear from you soon. Rich
