The other Kahlers from New york

By helaina yerry February 09, 2006 at 12:52:41

Me and my cuosin,Helen, have been trying to quite some time
to find more of our family.

From the 1910 census, I found where our cliton Kahler says his parents came from saxony, a then on another census it said hamberg. Of course, then hamberg was part of saxony.
Areas covered Niedersachen(saxon)Anhalt and sachen.

Our family lived in Shandeken , Ulster co NY then some moved to Schnectady NY. Some of the men in our early family worked in furniture manufacturing; chairs etc.

I found a Juilus Kahler Wife Ameda ( I think that is how is was spelled) in the census ennumbered with his dau and son-in-law in Shandeken NY. And I think that he is the father to Oscar since most of our family lived for a while in Shandaken, they were all there at the same time.

Our great grandfather was Ocar J. and wife, Augusta (Gabriel)
Their children were: Arthur, Alfred, Henry, Oscar, Cliton, Elsie,Evelyn,Hattie( Henrietta), Anna, Mildred.

Our family came here in 1886.

If any part of this info is maybe familiar, please contact me at any help would be so much appreciated:
