MADELEINE D KALBAUGH FROSTBURG Madeleine D. Kalbaugh, 86, formerly of Grahamtown, Frostburg, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at the Kensington-Algonquin, Cumberland, where she was a resident. Born Jan. 21, 1914, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Russell B. and Saney (Davies) Kalbaugh.
She also was preceded in death by her
brother, Russell D. Kalbaugh, in 1980; and
her sister, Elizabeth K. Rank, in 1990.
Miss Kalbaugh was a graduate of Catherman's Business School. She was retired from the U.S. Government, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She also worked as a secretary for public defender, Paul Stakem. She was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church and the Pioneer Women's Group there. She worked as a volunteer at Sacred Heart Hospital with over 5,000 hours of service.
Surviving are her niece, Judith Catron and husband James, Port St. Lucie, Fla.;
her nephew, James W. Rank and wife Lois, Willis Wharf, Va.; and
six grand-nephews, Michael,
Robert Rank, and
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William G. Boyer officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grand-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, 17 Beall St., Frostburg, MD 21532.
