Re: Let Us Know Who You Are
Rachael Anna Kapasi
I received information about you and sort of an invitation to let you know who we are.
I assume you have read my first profile on the internet about Kapasi-s who we are.
Incidentally due to the doings of my parents, I know the names of some seventh or eighth up grandfathers.
Some of them go like:
Dilip Kantilal Amulakhbhai Sunderjee, and
I feel a bit paranoid about not revealing all of them here on the internet, at least for now.
When I was about seven, we lived in a small town of Chuda, Saurashtra, (portion of Gujarat in India - the portion that looks like a bowl on the left of India's map).
We then mostly migrated to the big city of Bombay, and lived there for many years. My relatives are still living in Bombay in different parts of the city. However, I for one, came to the USA after getting a degree in Engineering in seventees, and have been here since.
I have a family of three in addition to three beautiful daughters who are now over 20 years of age.
What about you! What do you do?
I know that some of our relatives in India used the last name spelled like you spelled,
One Kapashi in Mumbai is, by the way, pretty rich family. We are somewhat related to them at the fourth up generation level.
Much of our lives we have lived as peaceful people, sometimes colored with plenty of religious beliefs in Jain religiion. We follow being Jains wherever we go. In many ways, Jain principles have made us who we are. I am not a 'ritual' follower, but more or less a vegetarian in life.
