My grandfather Bronislaw Karpowicz came from a village named Jusrkowka which is in Belarus. It is near the town of Dolginovo which is north east of Minsk. He immigrated to the US in 1912 and settled in Pittsburgh, PA until about 1921 when he moved to Cleveland, OH.In 1919, he married Anna Leszkowicz who was from Zalozowie located in the same area as Jusrkowka.Bronislaw had a brother Boleslaw who also immigrated to the US and settled in Latrobe, PA.There was also a Frank Karpowicz who I believe was a cousin who immigrated in 1911 and settled in Cleveland. His death certificate lists his parents as Mike Karpowicz and Mary Misewicz. He had two children, Helena and John.
My grandfather's parents were Karol Karpowizc and Elizabeta Wolkowicz. He had three sisters that remained in Belarus. They are Amilia, Anna & Juzefa.Anna's daughter, Jadwiga and Juzefa's daughter Maria and son Leonid still live in Jusrkowka.
