Kauble,... and Koeppel from Alsace-Lorraine
Yesterday in my searchings, I came across Hans Koeppel [b.1555, married Barbara] the Burgher of Bolanden in the Duchy of Wurtemberg (Germany). Their child was born in Alsace Lorraine; several descendants lived in Alsace Lorraine until 1749 when they sailed to Pennsylvania. You can find this same information through a Google search.
In America, KOEPPEL has gone through many name changes including: COBBLE and KEPPLE.
Likewise KAUBLE has been mis-spelled Cobble [as well as Kunkel!], however I've not proved any Kauble -- Koeppel connection.
Could there be a KAUB -- KAUBLEconnection, I wonder?
I write to you because the Kaubs came from Alsace Lorraine, and I had just read about Hans and that area.
My line of Kauble came here at least by 1751 or before. I've just started my interest in genealogy this month [April 2010] and it has been a delight finding out about all these people. Contact me if you would like.
