David Archer Keasler
I am looking for the parents of David Archer Keasler, born April 27, 1835 and died April 4, 1883 in Anderson County, South Carolina. He served in Company C of the Palmetto Sharp Shooters (South Carolina) during the Civil War, and he also married Elmina Byrum.
I belive that he is related to all the other Keaslers in the Anderson County, South Carolina, but I don't know the exact relationship.I have a transcript of a Civil War letter from John Berry Keasler (1835 - 1862) that stated "Cousin David is wounded in the arm".Well, upon checking the service records of David Archer Keasler, I found out that he was wounded in the arm during the same battle described in the letter. So I am almost certain that David belongs with this family somewhere.
Also, in the 1850 Census, I found a fourteen-year-old "David Young" living at the house of Abraham Keasler and Nancy Boyd Keasler, which would match the age of David Archer Keasler.Could he have been adopted by Abraham and Nancy?
If anyone can provide any insight on this, I would really appreciate it.
