There was a man named Alvin D. Keech born in Hawaii in 1890 who made beautiful banjos and "banjolele's" (spelling?)....He had a brother Kelvin K. Keech born 1895. Kelvin became a famous radio announcer in New York. Their mother was Isabella Weir daughter of Andrew K. Weir. I think she was born in Pennsylvania abt. 1872, even though some census info says California. Will check that again.
Alvin and Kelvin Keech's father was Alvin W. Keech born about 1852-1854 supposedly in York, Pennsylvania. From online patent info, Alvin's middle name seems to be Welty. Kelvin's middle name was Kirkwood, and Alvin Junior's middle name was Danglada.
I have scoured the net and Ancestry records but cannot find Alvin W. Keech prior to 1880 anywhere. In 1880 he is boarding with a family in Philadelphia, age 27, listed as a widower.
