Re: KEISELs from Eastern, PA circa 1820
I am researching the Keisel surname from the Philadelphia area. My ancestor was Charles Keisel b. Dec. 24, 1816, inPhiladelphia. He moved to Berks Co. and married Mary Ann Moser. Charles Keisel d. March 9, 1900 in Berks Co. PA and is buried at Huff's Church, Hereford Twp., Berks Co. PA . He was a veteran of the civil war and I have sent for his pension papers. Charles Keisel was also reported to have been a circus clown in his younger years and was know to posses acrobatic skills.
Charles and Mary Ann had a son William Henry Keisel, and 3 daughters, Sarah Ann, Mary Ann, and Judith Keisel. Charles and Mary Ann's daughter Sarah Keisel (my ancestor) married Daniel M. Kline from Berks Co., and they later moved to Royersford, PA., where Daniel died in 1890.Daniel M. Kline's father Henry K. Kline (my ancestor) had a very large family and also moved to the Royersford area and died there in 1897. Many of Henry Kline'sdescendants lived in the Royersford area. Henry K. Kline and his second wife Angeline are buried at Fernwood Cemetery in Royersford. Charles and Mary Ann Keisel's daughter JudithKeisel married Joseph Andre/Andrews in Berks Co. PA, and they moved to the Royersford/Philadelphiaarea too.
I am trying to gather as much information as I can on the Keisel family in the Philadelphia area in an attempt to find Charles Keisel's family. The Keisel surname is not a common name. I've also seen it spelled as Kisel and Keitzle. Perhaps there is a connection to your Keisel ancestor? Are you related to Henry K. Kline?
