Dan... I have had 3 DNA tests. The two you mentioned and 23andMe. Ancestry was a total waste of money. Family Tree helped link me with a Richard. I tested to 37th markers. 23andMe tested gnome and was autosomal also.
My biggest problem is finding out which Richard Kemp is in my line. One was married in 1745 in Maryland to Mary Green and one was married in 1745 to Susannah Piggott. They were Quakers and I have quite a bit of info on them. The documentation for both marriages are from official records.
I have positive documentation for my line back to Sanford Kemp born 1836 in Gwinnett County Georgia. The time between Sanford and one of the Richards is my biggest problem. I do have immigration records of a Richard Kemp arriving in this country in 1741/42. I have 2 or 3 earlier Richard Kemps that may or may not be related.
If you are interested in exchanging info, contact me at my email address. It is pdk1946@hotmail.com. I find it easier to share info that way as I have everything scanned and on my computer. You can also see some of my line on Ancestry. It is open to all. I have also been in contact with Andrew Kemp's site.
