Unusual Given Name - "Strange"

In my Kenny family tree I have a number of women with the unusual given name of "Strange". I am assuming that this is a family name from their maternal line but have been unable to find where it comes from. If anyone else has the name in their Kenny line I would be very pleased to hear from them.
