Patrick KENNY and Teresa CONLAN Marriage

By Michele Almeida February 20, 2011 at 05:56:47

After nearly 11 years of research, I believe I have discovered my great-great-grandparents' marriage. I have found a church marriage record for Patrick KENNY and Teresa CONLON on November 2, 1857 in the parish of Kildare, County Kildare. Teresa's address was Kildare; Patrick's address was not listed. Denomination of both was Roman Catholic. Patrick was a previously unmarried bachelor and Teresa was a previously unmarried spinster. Bride's and groom's fathers were just listed as CONLON and KENNY. No info on their mothers' names. Witnesses were John GAYNOR and Mary DORAN.
From what I have gathered about my gg-grandparents' ages and from this marriage record (if it is actually them), the bride and groom were around 16 years of age. Quite young. Is that too young for the time period and Ireland?
If anyone can connect their ancestors to my gg-grandparents, I'd be very happy to hear from you!
Michele
