I found more information about them.

They were married in 1831 in Ottawa at Notre Dame. They lived on Long Island (south of Ottawa). Not long after that they headed down to Essex County for the land they were given.Possibly he worked on the canal at Long Island during that time.

Problem is I can't find him on any of the passenger lists from those 1823 / 1825 ships that came from Ireland to drop off farmers to work the land in Canada. There are some KINNEY's but no Kenneys. No Carrolls either.I know Thomas could not read or write so it is possible it didn't get transcribed.

His death record shows he was born in "Waterford"so it could be the county or the city in Ireland. Also he was Roman Catholic and they were mainly located on the western side of the county near tipperary.Bridget his wife was from Tipperary.

Anyone offer any clues how to find info in Waterford about the Kenney family?
