No those records from ancestry are incorrect. Some of those records are always just labeled but they actually dont look at the document page to see the exact date. I think I actually even made corrections in the comments that it wasn't 1829.

It gives the dates of the records as 1829, but if you actually look at the scan of the record it shows 1832.Thomas was married in 1831, then Bridget in 1832.

Catherine Kenney was their first daughter in 1833, and we never saw her again.The first census was 1852 I have a record of Thomas and his family but no Catherine.Later on he had another daughter named Catherine so the first one must have passed away young.

Thomas did have a Bridget as a daughter who married a Patrick Strong.

The time period between 1833-1839 is pretty much missing to us.He supposedly went to Pennsylvania where his second daughter was born Helen/Ellen/Elinor there.No birth record for her either, but I've found records on her marriage that say she was born in the USA and Pennsylvania.That is the only clue that he traveled there.Oddly enough Peter Kenney SJ was in Philly in 1833 as well.I had them look up the church records for me at the church he visited but there are none for Elinor there.

I noticed with my family a lot of the times people were give names but usually never used them.They usually used the middle name or nickname.This continues to this day where some of my uncles have a formal name but everyone uses a different version. Even my great aunt's had nick names.

Helen was named Elinor in another record, and even Bridget in another.There was actually two identical marriage records for her one official one she puts Bridget instead of Helen/Elinor in the church record.

Thomas' wife Bridget Carroll used Bridget formally on almost all records but then one year's census she is called "Catherine".

Made it take me a looong time to put it all together.Now if I could just find out more about the Waterford area and tie us in to Peter.

I've done a lot of research into Ignatius Rice and his "Brothers". I'm positive Thomas was acquanted with him and his Christian brotherhood because Peter and his brother were.
