I am from Putaruru, New Zealand and have been doing family research for about 10 years. My Gt.Gt.Grandmother on my fathers line was Bridget Kenny who married John McManaway in 1843 in Dublin, Ireland.Bridget was the daughter of Martin KENNY and Anne BELL christenes at Ballinsloe, Galway, Ireland in 1823.She became the ward of her Uncle a Dr.William BELL(Dr. of Architecture in Dublin)so something must have happened to her parents.I do not know of any other siblings for Briget and have not found evidence of her and John's marriage as yet. However they came to New Zealand on the "Oliver Lang" in 1858,arriving in Wellington with three small daughters. After settling in NZ they had another 6 children and then John was killed in riding accident leaving Brdget with nine children to raise alone - I am a descendant of their daughter Mary Catherine Mcmanaway. Are these Kenny families connected and do you have any further information on that line - I will gladly share whatever I can with you. Please e-mail me.
Susan
