I am looking for descendants of relatives of Joseph and Hannah Kenyon, (27 South Street Halifax in 1851).
In 1855 the two sons Thomas and John emigrated to the settlement of New Plymouth, New Zealand, on the ship Carnatic. In 1856 the rest of the family - parents Joseph and Hannah, daughter Sarah Ann and the wife of Thomas - Eliaabeth (nee Town) - followed on the ship Euphemus.
Joseph Kenyon was born in August 23 1794 according to inscription in family bible. The 1851 census states his place of birth was Langwith, Notts.
Our family bible records his wife was Hannah Willah born Dec 1 1794. 1851 census states her place of birth was Northowram, Yorkshire.
A marriage certificate between Joseph Kennan and Hannah Willey (Halifax parish Church) 9th Feb 1831 may refer to the couple above - no proof. Also the marriage certificate indicates Joseph Kennan had been previously married.
In 1851 census there was a neighbouring Kenyon family in 26 South Street. No known relationship.
Any descendants of Kenyon or Willey families who might be related to any of the above? If so please contact email@example.com
