Dec 18, 1818 in Hampshire County,Virginia(now Mineral County,WV) d. Jan 26, 1903 in Tucker County,WV(buried in Kight Cem.,Tucker Co.) and Malinda Ellen Paugh b.1822 d. 1911 in Tucker County,WV(buried in Kight Cem.,Tucker Co.) Cornelius and Malinda were married on Jan 16 1844. Michael Henry married his cousin Sarah Ellen Kight b. Nov 14,1850 in Alleghany County,MD d. Mar 11, 1922 in Calhoun County,WV(buried in Kight Cem.,Calhoun Co.) they were married in Nov 23, 1865 in Ritchie County,WV, she was the daughter of Emmanuel Miller Kight b.Feb 24, 1822 in Hampshire County,VA(WV) d. Nov 24, 1896 in Claude,Armstrong County,TX(buried in Claude Cemetery) and Charlotte Ayers d. 1881 in Collin County,Texas(buried in Mugg Cemetery,Collin County,TX) Michael and Sarah had 12 children( one being named Audie a name recurring in a later generation). Cornelius and Malinda had 12 children as well. Emmanuel and Charlotte had 9 children.
Cornelius and Emmanuel were the sons of Henry Thomas Kight Jr. b. Jun 7 1795 in Hampshire County,VA(WV) d. Jul 8 1877 in Bloomington,Garrett County,Maryland and Sarah Sharpless b.Nov 5,1788 d. May 25,1870, they were married on Jun 20 1816 in Elk Garden,Hampshire County,VA(WV). Henry Thomas was the son of Henry Thomas Kight Sr. b. Abt 1774 in Alleghany county, MDand Rachel Acton b. 1779 in Baltimore,MD d. 1837 in Alleghany County,MD. Mary Ellen Kight wasn't the first Kight to marry into the Whipkeys, Mary dame Kight married Phillip David Whipkey, son of David Martin Whipkey, Harold Kight, son of Christopher Columbus Kight married Goldie Whipkey, daughter of Albert Ross Whipkey. You will find throughoutg the kight line back to John Kite, Kights marrying into other kight branches as well as Whipkey and Ayers co-mingling. As the Kights moved from Alleghany county,MD through Hampshire County,WV(which is next to Alleghany County) to Calhoun County they split off. Michael henry's branch is one of the few that stayed in and around Calhoun and Ritchie counties, the majority moved to Texas.
