Re: CHAUNCEY KILMER BORN 1816
Does anybody have any further information on the following information on Chauncey Kilmer.
On Tuesday, April 24 at 784 5th av., by the Rev, Dr Cornelius B. Smith of St James Episcopal Church, married Mary Adelaide Harvey, daughter of the late Gerard Bancker.They lived at 9 East 57th Street, N.Y.
Later, I find; Brother Disputes Will;
Gerard Bancker of 330 West 23rd St. filed notice yesterday of contest of the will of his sister, Mary Adelaide Kilmer which disclosed of $ (a good sum of money), Mrs Kilmer left her entire estate in trust to Prof. Rudolf Tombo, Jr. of Columbia Univ. (My grandfather on my mother's side) who married her niece.The money went to my mother's mother who was hospitalized at an early age, for payment of hospital bills, until she died. A certain sum also went to my mother, who was 8 years old at the time...total amount to be given her when she reached the age of 21, plus any money remaining after her mother's death and hospital paid off.
Apparently, Mary and Chauncey did not have any children, but I am trying to find information on the two of them, prior to their marriage. Can anybody help me out ??
Regards,....Randall Tombo Weeks
He was quite old at the time of this marriage to my mother's sister.
